Dog Training at Home
Dog thinks your house is a great
spot to poop
- Establish a consistent potty routine and take the dog outside at regular intervals.
- Provide plenty of opportunities for the dog to go potty outside, especially after meals, naps, and play.
- Supervise the dog when inside and interrupt any attempts to eliminate indoors.
- Use positive reinforcement to reward the dog for going potty outside.
- Confine the dog in a crate or designated area when unsupervised.
- Clean any indoor accidents thoroughly to remove the odor.
- There are many reasons why a dog does toilet in the house, you should never punish the dog for this, ‘rubbing his nose in it’ is an old wives tale, and will lead to behavioral issues.
- Consider seeking the help of a professional dog trainer or behaviorist. (That’s me)
